Chalk Paint tips and tricks...
The One ingredient I have worked with so far is calcium carbonate which is found more online than not. You want powder form only and you can purchase online at amazon.

The gray paint I chose is called "Iron Gate" by Behr. I accidently bought a quart of the Marquee- it's supposed to cover better and it costs a lot more so don't feel like you have to buy that. I certainly will skip the Marquee next time I visit Home Depot!

There are a billion and one ways to do the ratio between latex paint and calcium carbonate but I googled it and have made some adjustments as I keep finding new recipes. Just google and experiment for yourself. It should be thicker than latex paint and you need a tad of water to make it dissolve BEFORE putting latex into the mix.

Lastly, you want to make sure you wax your piece after it's dried. I would suggest the Mini Wax brand as well as the a waxing brush like this.
