Graduation time came and went so fast... The house was a blur of frenzied cleaners, bakers and decorators. Mom shopped, studied Pinterest for ideas and enjoyed collecting items for the big day.
Then the day arrived...
Cyndie graduated in the cutest, light pink graduation gown and cap; her soft blonde curls perfectly pinned in place and her face full of excitement... And well... embarrassed for having to wear a gown and be sung "Pomp and Circumstance" by many friends in her own home!
All forty-one guests enjoyed a scrumptious dinner (prepared by Laurie; another sister) of chicken tetrazzini, Caesar salad and those famous Red Lobster rolls.
Dessert was my department, although mom snuck in her amazing cake pops and she also is responsible for the delightful amount of candy.
I went to town with my recent experimentation of cakes- chocolate peppermint, chocolate bundt cake, coconut bundt cake, and yet another peppermint chocolate bundt cake. They were moist and delectable- thanks to a NEW recipe I found on Pinterest. A Martha Stewart cake really made the other cake taste like blah!
Here are some pictures of all the hard work we poured into Cyndie's day. Even Granny, who's now 80 years old did her fair share :)
This chalkboard pen worked pretty well. I got it off amazon for approx. $6
In our home, coffee is a BIG deal :)
Cakes and candy... Oh my!
Granny wrapped these in classy ribbon- they are supposed to look
Like little diplomas. Another Pinterest idea ;)
Gossamer really brought elegance to the back porch
This bundt cake (recipe link in an earlier post) is my weakness. SO moist...
Change up the same recipe by switching vanilla for coconut extract and coconut shreds
Same here, only this time it's peppermint :)
Thank you for sharing, it all looks so pretty and yummy! :-)
